Cash pay clinics offer excellent quality of care, one-on-one treatment, and are often comparable in price with an insurance-based plan of care.
Have a high deductible?
- If using insurance to cover PT intervention, you will need to pay cash anyway until your deductible is met and you will likely only get hands-on, personalized treatment for a maximum of 30 minutes per visit.
- Your payments can also be sent in to your insurance as a self claim and possibly applied to your deductible anyway, as you are provided with a SUPERBILL at the end of your treatment.
Regular Insurance/Copays?
- You may pay equal or even less money by choosing a cash pay clinic AND receive 1:1 care.
- Consider this example:
- If you have a $25 copay/visit and are being asked to get 2-3 treatments per week for 6-8 weeks (a typical plan of care in an insurance-based clinic), this would equate to $300-$600 out of pocket, and you would have likely only received a maximum of 30 minutes 1:1, hands on care each visit (usually less).
- Active 1:1 care in a cash-based clinic can offer the same results in 1 treatment per week for 4-6 weeks at $100/visit, which equates to $400-$600.
- You may end up paying less money and have 25-50% fewer trips to the clinic!
Other Benefits:
- The value of added time to your schedule
- The value of feeling better sooner
- The value of a quicker return to work and/or sport
- The value of personalized, 1:1 care EVERY visit
Services are HSA/FSA eligible medical expenses, enabling you to pay with pre-tax dollars.
- Example: $100 treatment fee x 25% tax bracket x 7.65% medicare/social security tax = $32.65 in savings, which is somewhat equivalent to only paying about $68.00 per 1 hour treatment session.
THE OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE IS COMPARABLE, BUT THE QUALITY OF CARE IS MUCH GREATER!
